There is no difference in the love you feel for a biological child or an adoptive child. I remember the warmth and love I felt for my son in the delivery room and thinking I could not love anything more than what I feel for this child. I was wrong, the first time my oldest daughter greeted me in the hallway when I came home from work dropped me to my knees as if I had just been sucker-punched.
We had a nice big van to go to the airport. I didn’t think we’d be able to take off – the weather is crazy. At the airport no one would tell us where to go and we got charged for our bags being too big. Miraculously, DS1 saw a sign flash Kemerovo. That take-off was scary, but we went up and away…we’re almost there.
While I had signed all of the paperwork and shown everyone the pictures, I did not realize that Little Man and Little Princess would be my children until I met them.

But mostly, its because she said yes. Even when it meant sitting in a swarm of mosquitoes a bit longer while I drummed up the courage to ask her to take this crazy ride through life together.
