Remembering Life
Feature — By Marcie on April 8, 2009 at 10:14 amThere are many people online today that say there are no words to describe the death of Madeline Alice Spohr.
Of course, there are no words to comfort family or heal the wounds a parent endures. I may just be an Internet friend through communities like the Silicon Valley Moms; I may just be someone who follows Heather’s amazing journey with her family; and I may just Stumble a few of her postings… but I have fallen in love with Maddie.
She has the spirit of an angel and the bravery of a gladiator. Maddie is the personification of what inspiration would be if it could walk, and talk, and smile with big beautiful eyes.
May God bless the Spohr family and may they always, always, cherish their Maddie.
I am not there
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the snow on the mountain’s rim,
I am the laughter in children’s eyes,
I am the sand at the water’s edge,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the star that shines at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
