Adoption Carnival III: Photos of Adoption
As the publisher of this site I chose the topic for the third carnival on the advice of a friend who thought it might be really interesting to include the children in the topic. But, I didn’t think about our readers who don’t have children or our readers who are not adopted. It was, unfortunately, an oversight. I do think that we can amend this topic in the future to include all of us but I want to give you all time to do it because I think it could be really amazing.
So, Carnival IV will be: The Art of Adoption. Show us, in poem, in picture, in paint, what adoption is to you.
Carnival III: Photos of Adoption. What is your most treasured adoption photo (or two)? Block out faces if you have to, find a scanner, or simply tell us about it if you can’t post it. We do understand that. Adversely, if you don’t have one, tell us why you don’t.
You know the drill: Sign Mr. Linky and then link back on your post to this EXACT page.

[...] Adoption Carnival III asks for my favorite picture of adoption. Heck if I know. Do you know who I am? I’m a photographer (!), for Pete’s sake. I take pictures out the wazoo. The camera is permanently stuck to my face. Even though we started this open adoption journey in a time before either family owned a digital camera, we have a billion and one photos. Seriously. In fact, I have a full TUB from her FIRST YEAR ALONE. (Thanks, D! You’re the best.) [...]

[...] Grown in my Heart’s Blog Carnival III is about photos of adoption. Originally, it was going to be specifically about children, but there were quite a few people (myself included) who voiced their objections to this, because adoption isn’t only about children. Us adoptees grow up, believe it or not (yes, it may be hard to imagine!), hence adoption isn’t only about children and childhood. So it got changed to simply being focused around photos of adoption. For my contribution, I struggled to find just one photo that represents adoption to me. So I’m posting a few. The photo that stood out the most for me, in regards to this topic would be this one: [...]

What a fun topic! I’ve linked this to my Nov. 4 post about the joys of adopting an older child. Our son will soon be home after two and a half years of waiting. I’ve included several sweet pics of all the fabulous firsts we’ve experienced with our 9 year old son.
